The Combination Brow creates beautiful eyebrows using powder technique to fill in eyebrows as well as Microblading to accent with hair strokes in the bulb of the eyebrows for added details. This is perfect for clients whose skin types are not suitable for a fully micro-bladed eyebrow, but still want accented hairstrokes. Powder is typically the best option for Oily/combo skin types, larger pored skin, aging skin, acne prone skin, sensitive skin, and skin that has prior permanent makeup.

It can last anywhere from 1-5 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and adherence to aftercare.

It is important that you trust your artist and the process. Your tattoo should heal within a couple of weeks, depending on the person. You should understand that YOUR skin may heal quicker or slower. Some tattoos require a lot more work to be done in the skin. The more damage your skin receives, the longer it may need to heal. People with higher blood pressure will tend to bleed more, increasing the chance of “bleeding” out some of the ink.

These brows are gaining popularity for the people who want the natural hair stroke eyebrow look. If you are not able to get microblading this is a good option for you. If you have oily skin, you should not get micro bladed because strokes can get blurred, so this is a good option because you are getting the eyebrow hair stroke as well as some powder shading. Tools and machines are used to insert pigment onto the surface of the skin. They will eventually fade because the pigments will not go as deep as a traditional tattoo would. However, they are semi-permanent because they last 1-5 years.

1. Consultation

We will discuss your style preference and help you decide a color and shape. You should bring pictures of the look you’d like to achieve.

2. Topical anesthetic

To make the process comfortable for you your artis will apply a topical anesthetic to numb pain. This will sit on the skin for about 15-20 minutes before the procedure begins

3. Deciding on a pigment

You will discuss your desired look with your artist, and they will help you choose the best color to suit you based off your hair color, eye color, etc.

4. Deciding on a shape

We will draw an outline of the brow and you can adjust until you achieve the desired shape. We also will help you decide a shape based off your specific face features, shape of face, symmetry, etc. After this the procedure begins.

5. Beginning the needling

  • First, we will do the blading with a machine (nano brows) or a manual tool (traditional microblading). This is how the outline is created so your artist can easily shade the area.
  • We like to shade first because it can give more realistic results.
  • The shading should be very light to achieve a soft, light, airy look.
  • Combo brows require fewer strokes compared to microblading

Aftercare for combination Eyebrows

Day 1 (Day of procedure)

Every 60 minutes (during first 6 hours after having your eyebrows done) take a clean clothes and gently dab eyebrows to help absorb lymph fluid, doing so stops the lymphatic fluids from hardening.

Days 2-10

Washing (washing will not lighten or get rid of pigment)

  • You should be gently washing the area morning and night using your fingers and an unscented, gentle cleanser. Some recommended cleansers include Cetaphil, baby shampoo, and dial soap.
  • Using the gentle cleanser and water lightly rub brows for about 10 seconds and rinse with water until all soap is gone. Lightly tap the area dry with a clean tissue.
  • It is important to wash the area daily to prevent and remove buildup of oils, products, bacteria and dead skin cells. Do NOT use any harsh cleansers. This includes any product containing acids such as, lactic, glycolic, AHAs, or exfoliants.

Hydrating the area (days 2-10)

  • Using a cotton swab you should apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area multiple times a day.
  • Use a very thin layer of ointment, using too much will stop the skin from being able to breathe increasing the healing time.
  • Avoid applying ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

While showering

  • For the first 10 days keep showers short (5 minutes) and the temperature low, do not get your face wet until the end your shower.
  • Wash your body first, while washing your body keep your procedure area dry, then wash your hair last.
  • Do not use hot water directly on the procedure area and do not over wash the area.
  • Do not use any chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or facials for a minimum of 4 weeks.

  • Keep pillowcase clean.
  • Try not to sleep on your face for the 10 days following the procedure.

  • Wait at least 4 weeks before getting any facials, Botox, microdermabrasion, or chemical treatments.

HEALING PROCESS FOR EYEBROW TATTOOS

Healing Time

It will take about around 6-8 weeks for eyebrows to heal completely. You must wait to get a touch up until after this time frame because the tissue underneath the surface of your skin takes the full 6-8 weeks to recover. However, the surface doesn’t take as long to heal. Throughout the healing process your brows may appear rough looking, but this is normal so do not be worried.

Days 1-2

Your eyebrows will appear several shades darker.

Days 3-7

Avoid touching the area during this time, around the 5th day a scab will start to form across your eyebrows.

Days 7-12

The scabs may start to peel, this may happen on day 7 or later. Do not pick at scabs or the area surrounding the scabs. Also note that scabs could go through two cycles of peeling.

Day 12 onwards

You know your skins surface has healed when the skin stops peeling. If your skin is still in the peeling process continue using the aftercare routine until surface is healed. Pigments may appear too light after peeling off however this is not permanent, and they will slowly get darker in a couple weeks.
